Avoided a meeting

First Chris and Rodney invited Robin Adams to meet them. They tried but each invitation were ignored. So on 26th November 2018 they sent a recorded delivery letter to Robin Adams and with no immediate reply they published the invitation on Facebook. That produced a reply saying he couldn't meet for 4 months and accusing Chris and Rodney of bullying. Further that until the meating takes place we were not to contact him or the Church. Effectively barred from attending.

Two members of the congregation tried to intervene and produce a concilliatory atmosphere in which a meeting could take place and although Chris and Rodney did not abandon their wish to meet Robin Adams to discuss his homophobic abuse, it was clear that Robin Adams only wanted to talk about his interpretation of the Lambeth Conference 20 years earlier. He accused Chris, now referred to as "Mr Wilkinson" and not including his partner Rodney as having made a lifestyle choice. Later he described Rodney as being a friend!

We know today that boys are born gay, they don't choose to be gay and it is not an illness that can be cured. It is the normality of birth that some people are born gay, some are born straight with a mixture of children between gay and straght.

But Robin Adams cannot accept that and when invited by Chris and Rodney to meet on 3rd June he refused but instead offered a meeting in a pub. Neither Chris nor Rodney feel that a pub, for which the sole purpose in going there is intoxication, is an appropriate place for a meeting. Robin Adams refused to allow them to meet in a Church where discussions could have taken place calmly and without alcoholic distractions.

Robin Adams now claims it is Chris and Rodney who have refused to meet him.

We have got beyond believing that Robin Adams will meet with us, the Church of England hierachy is silent so we have no option but to protest. Starting with Christ Church in Brittany a wave of informing the congregations about Robin Adams will commence.
